References & Case Studies

Proof of successful projects that builds trust with new customers.

Definition

References name earlier customers and projects; case studies describe a project in more detail with the starting situation, approach and result. Both serve as proof of trust: they show that a provider has already delivered something comparable successfully. In tenders, concrete references of similar size or industry are frequently required, sometimes with a contact option. For many customers they're a knockout criterion: no matching references, no invitation.

was für Dienstleister bedeutet

For providers, references are hard cash, but only if they're at hand at the right moment. In practice they're scattered across old offers, presentations and people's heads, and have to be reassembled to fit each tender. Whoever quickly delivers the right reference for the required industry and size scores; whoever searches long or delivers something ill-fitting wastes a powerful trust lever. Yet the core content of a good reference barely changes.
